![]() Since 1979 as a Calgary-based Search consultant and Corporate Recruiter, Rob Derkitt has assisted hundreds of organizations with their staffing requirements for all levels of professional, technical and management talent. Rob has consulted to all types and sizes of companies within the Petroleum sector and has focused on assisting companies identify individuals for the highly specialized, technical disciplines inherent with the oil and gas industry. Additionally, he has had extensive personal and consulting experience within the Petrochemical, Telecommunication, High Technology, Health Care, Manufacturing, Financial, Service and Not-for-Profit industries. Prior to establishing R.J. Derkitt & Associates Inc., Rob was the Director of Executive Search for the Calgary office of Price Waterhouse from 1985 until the spring of 1992 and successfully performed Search assignments for clients on the local, regional and national levels. Rob first entered the consulting industry in 1981 when he helped establish the Calgary office for Rourke Bourbonnais & Associates, a management consulting firm based in Montreal and Toronto which specialized in Executive Search and Organizational consulting. From 1981 until the fall of 1985, Rob conducted Search and consulting assignments for a variety of Alberta and National clients. Rob was born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan and attended the Canadian Military Colleges in Victoria, British Columbia and St. Jean, Quebec from 1971-1975 after which he obtained his Bachelor of Administration Degree and Military Commission. Serving as a commissioned officer at various Canadian and international military installations, Rob received a United Nations Peacekeeping medal for his service within Egypt prior to leaving the Department of National Defence in 1979. From 1979 to 1981, Rob was actively involved in the recruitment of professional and technical staff for Dome Petroleum, a Calgary-based, oil and gas exploration and development company active throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
